Imagining the Indians in Mesa Verde

We spent a couple of days in Mesa Verde. Most of what we wanted to see requires taking a scheduled tour - we ended up skipping one of the three tours we purchased tickets for because it required crawling through small 12 foot long tunnel - our backpacks wouldn't even fit!

It was all beautiful and amazing - and I'm always impressed with how much history I've forgotten over the years.

150 people lived in this dwelling - they left about 700 years ago.

We had the opportunity to climb down into a kiva - which was a religious room.
Getting to the dwellings during the tour required climbing up and down ladders.
Some of the trails in and out were narrow and steep.
